Topper continued to operate from 1970 to 1973.  For most of this time there were two major toy lines: Dawn and Johnny Lightning.  This paralleled rival Mattel’s two main toy lines Barbie and Hot Wheels.  Topper introduced two other action figure lines: Tigers for boys and Go-Go’s for girls.  They also introduced a very interesting set of robots, the Ding-A-Lings.  There were also several games introduced. The guns, spy toys, and homemaker sets were all gone, victims of changing roles for women, continuing protests against the Vietnam War, and higher costs for plastic due to the oil crisis.
